Enterpulse Collaborates with State Governor’s Office to Revamp Web Site
Site Redesign Enhances Communications for Constituents, Press, Legislators, and More
Altanta, GA (April 29, 2004) - Enterpulse, the professional services firm that specializes in portal technology to eliminate boundaries across platforms and engage audiences, today announced its role in the redesign of the Georgia State Governor's Web site. Since taking office in 2003, Governor Perdue and his Administration have been focused on furthering their role as a responsive government that effectively represents its constituents. To that end, the office needed to update its official Web site and create a comprehensive online forum to disseminate valuable policy information and constituent services. In addition, the office sought to offer opportunities for citizens to interact directly with the Administration and the Governor himself.
As a Georgia company headquartered in Decatur—just east of Atlanta's city limits—Enterpulse embraced the opportunity to assist the Governor's office in the strategy, design, and development of a site that would meet the needs of Georgia citizens, press, legislators, and others. With core competencies in building complex enterprise portals, the Enterpulse team designed a news-style portal layout with areas to highlight featured items and latest news. Of prominence are home page areas such as “Make a Suggestion,” within which citizens can write to Governor Perdue via an easy-to-use online form. The central home page body showcases “Featured Stories”—complete with relevant topics and items of interest that are updated on a near daily basis. Other key content areas include photo galleries of the Governor and First Lady, a comprehensive newsroom, lists of executive orders and proclamations, services and internship opportunities for constituents, and various other programs and services.
In keeping with the Administration’s commitment to promoting a principle-centered, people-focused culture, the Enterpulse team approached the visual design of the site using rotating photographic imagery, while complementing the visual standards set forth in the encompassing Georgia.gov portal. The overall design also takes advantage of the infrastructure and content management capabilities already in place with Georgia.gov-allowing for seamless growth and the addition of new focus areas and navigation to address future needs.
“Enterpulse has helped us create an effective online channel to offer up-to-date information about Governor Perdue and his priorities for the people of Georgia,” said John Watson, Chief of Staff to Governor Perdue.
The site has just launched and is accessible at http://www.gov.state.ga.us/, as well as via a quick link from the State of Georgia home page at http://www.georgia.gov/.
